The Most Exclusive Dinosaur Fossils in North Carolina! The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in North Carolina strives to discover and document biological diversity, promote environmental awareness and relate the natural sciences to everyday life. There are more than 3 million specimens in the collection of the museum which focuses on zoology, geology and paleontology of North Carolina and Southeastern United States.
Exhibits include dinosaur fossils, whale skeletons and re-creations of North Carolina habitats. A few of the popular exhibits are Willo, the world’s only dinosaur with the fossilized heart and the Terror of the South, the only Acrocanthosaurus skeleton displayed anywhere in North Carolina or in the world. The main gallery also showcases hand blown glasses, NC pottery, wildlife photography, lithographs and paintings at this Children's museum.
