Travel Back History! It once became a chaotic battlefield during Colonial until the Revolutionary war. Guests can take a tour of the 18th century Allen house and battle field monuments. Still intact, standing well preserved, it was originally built in 1780 and is believed to be owned by John Allen and wife Rachel with their twelve children.
Alamance Battleground has a quarter mile nature trail where guests can take a walk and stroll around the area. It has the 1880 column built to commemorate the battle. Visitors coming with families can also enjoy the picnic facilities with 10 tables available and the battlegrounds can also be used as picnic areas. Kids and families can enjoy this historical landmark for free. Go through each memorabilia and find out great stories about the bravery of those who fought during the war. This is great public art in NC!
