Grandfather Mountain State Park is a 2,456 acre property along the crest of Grandfather Mountain which exists for the education, enjoyment, health and inspiration of all citizens and visitors in North Carolina and across all other states. The property is commonly known as the backcountry of the famous travel destination. The mission of this state park system is to conserve and protect representative examples of the ecological features, natural beauty and recreational resources of statewide significance.
