The Charlotte 49ers is the NCAA Division I sports teams of the University of NC at Charlotte. Most of Charlotte's teams are members of the Atlantic 10 Conference since January 2013, and they will move to Conference USA in July 2013. Additionally, Charlotte has been a member of the Metro Conference, that merged with the Great Midwest Conference in order to form Conference USA, and it was also a charter member of Sun Belt Conference.
The Men's Basketball team reached the Final Four back in 1977. The golf program was ranked as the No.1 team in NC in September 2007, and the men's soccer team reached the national championship game of College Cup in 2011.
