Explore Culture and History through Hiking! The Swannanoa Valley Museum in North Carolina has served the Western North Carolina community since 1989 as the primary children's museum of general local history. The history of the region is interpreted in a unique collection of photos and artifacts from the Swannanoa Valley. The Swannanoa Valley Museum also preserves and interprets the social, cultural and natural history of the Swannanoa Valley. The museum develops dynamic programs and engages exhibitions for the education and enrichment of the society as well. Swannanoa offers a lot of activities which visitors will surely find exciting and educational.
A few of these activities are Swannanoa Rim Explorer which offers experienced hikers the opportunity to explore remote and little traveled territories and Daycations which is designed for excursionists which prefer to discover the natural and heritage treasures in Western North Carolina but don’t prefer to hike.
